Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Marietta Team Behind Ashby Chimney Marietta
Ashby Chimney Marietta has been sweeping and repairing chimneys in Cobb County since 2002, and the crew you’ll meet at your door is the reason people keep calling back. We’re a small, focused team of background-checked technicians who show up in uniform, put the price in writing before we touch anything, and leave your fireplace cleaner than we found it. Four of us handle most of the work across Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, and the surrounding neighborhoods. You’ll get the same person from the first phone call to the final walkthrough, and that matters when someone’s poking around your flue.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Nathan Corliss, Owner and Lead Technician
Nathan started sweeping chimneys in 2002, which means he has pulled enough creosote out of Marietta flues to fill a few dumpsters. He handles the complex inspections and the repairs that make other companies suggest a full rebuild. If you have a chimney with a cracked flue liner and a water leak that nobody else can trace, Nathan is the one who figures it out. He is certified in HeatShield resurfacing and reads a camera inspection the way some people read a Sunday paper. Outside of work, he restores old hand tools and will happily tell you which flea market in Acworth had the best chisels this month.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with Ashby Chimney Marietta for nine years, and he’s the guy who makes a new flue liner look like it grew there. He leads most of our DuraFlex stainless steel liner installations and fireplace repair projects across Marietta and East Cobb. Marcus came up through masonry work before moving into chimney systems, so he understands how the brick, the crown, and the liner all have to work together. He keeps a notepad in his truck and sketches out every repair for the homeowner before the first tool comes out. Ask him about his vegetable garden, and you’ll get a ten-minute conversation about tomatoes.
Elena R., Service Coordinator
Elena is the voice on the phone, and if you call our office at (478) 796-8742, she’s probably the person answering. She schedules every sweep and inspection, walks homeowners through what to expect on service day, and makes sure the written quote matches the work we actually discussed. Elena has been with us for six years and knows the difference between a standard sweep and a chimney that needs a level two inspection before you say three words. She’s originally from Roswell and keeps a running list of the best coffee shops near every job site we visit, which is more useful than it sounds.
Devon P., Apprentice Technician
Devon joined the crew two years ago and is working through his chimney service training under Nathan and Marcus. He handles a lot of the hands-on work: setting up drop cloths, running the vacuum, and getting comfortable with the brushes before he runs a sweep on his own. Devon is the one who makes sure your living room floor looks untouched when we pack up. He’s a Marietta native, went to Sprayberry High School, and spends his weekends coaching youth soccer at Terrell Mill Park. If he’s on your job, you’ll notice he asks a lot of questions, which is exactly what we want from someone learning the trade.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Ashby Chimney location is independently owned and operated under the Kingswell Guarantee, and the Marietta team lives by the Kingswell Way on every single job. That means five things, in this order: say the price before the work starts, show up during the window we gave you, leave the house cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing on every repair, and come back if the repair fails. No add-on surprises at the door. No handshake deals that evaporate later. The crew follows the same steps whether we’re sweeping a simple fireplace in Powder Springs or relining a flue in Vinings, because the standard doesn’t change with the size of the job. Nathan put it simply once: if our own mothers wouldn’t sign off on the work, we don’t call it done. That’s not a slogan. That’s just how the team operates.
